The process of using a recording head to record magnetic waves with strictly equal intervals on a magnetic ruler (or disc) using a method similar to recording technology is called magnetic recording. A magnetic ruler that has already recorded magnetic waves is called a magnetic grid ruler. The distance between adjacent grid waves on the magnetic grid ruler is called the wavelength of the magnetic grid, also known as the pitch of the magnetic grid (grid spacing).
The magnetic grid ruler is the reference component of the magnetic grid digital display system. Obviously, wavelength is the unit of measurement for the length of a magnetic grating ruler. Any measured length can be represented by the sum of several magnetic grid wavelengths corresponding to it.
The body of the magnetic grid ruler can be made of a hard magnetic alloy that meets certain requirements. It can also be made of magnetic materials coated with a layer of hard magnetic alloy on the surface. The performance of hard magnetic alloy magnetic materials used to make magnetic grid rulers should meet the following requirements:
1) Good magnetic materials should have large remanence and coercivity, that is, the hysteresis loop of the material should be relatively full.
2) The more uniform the magnetic properties of a material with good magnetic uniformity, the better, to ensure that the residual magnetic amplitude after recording is equal, otherwise it will affect the accuracy of the magnetic grid.
3) The residual magnetic strength of materials with good magnetic stability after magnetization should not have a rapid weakening performance over time.
4) Good mechanical performance materials should have high mechanical strength, hardness, and wear resistance, be easy to machine, and not easily affected by external temperature and humidity changes.
5) A certain frequency characteristic can ensure the recording of magnetic waves at the required frequency (wavelength) under a certain residual magnetic intensity requirement.
The commonly used hard magnetic alloys are Cu Ni Fe alloy or Fe Cr Co alloy; The commonly used components of magnetic coatings are Ni Co、P。
Design of magnetic grid ruler
An important characteristic of a magnetic grid is that the magnetic grid ruler is in contact with the magnetic head during operation. The working principle of the magnetic grid is magneto electric conversion. In order to ensure stable output signal amplitude of the magnetic head, considering the high magnetic resistance of air, there should be no large or variable gap between the magnetic grid ruler and the magnetic head. It is best to use a contact type. For this purpose, the magnetic head of the belt type magnetic grid is pressed onto the magnetic tape during operation, resulting in some unevenness of the real-time tape surface and good contact between the magnetic head and the magnetic tape. There is a gap of about 0.01mm between the magnetic scale of the linear magnetic grid and the magnetic head. Due to the inability to achieve the ideal state during assembly and adjustment, the actual linear magnetic grid is also in a quasi contact working state.
Another important characteristic of a magnetic grid is that the magnetic grid ruler is in a certain tension state.
Advantages of magnetic grid ruler
Non contact measurement, no back gap problem, easy installation and maintenance, high accuracy, with a long stroke that can be infinitely extended by 0.1-100 meters, high anti pollution ability, and can work in harsh environments without losing accuracy. It works in water, oil, and iron filings, is easy to install, allows for large installation errors, and is inexpensive. It will not lose magnetism for ten years.
